19. Lausitz Café in Niesky - Focus on training. Career orientation - But how?
The Lausitz Café is our event series where we regularly meet with you to actively engage with the region. Here, we don't discuss things theoretically, but rather in a practical, everyday way: Each café focuses on different key topics related to structural change, and our goal is to find answers together with you to questions that concern us all.
On Tuesday, October 6, 2026 , we cordially invite you to the HOLZ youth center in Niesky . That evening, we would like to talk openly with you about career guidance .
The offer is open to everyone and is free of charge. Food and drinks will also be provided, so no one will go hungry.
Questions:
Table 1: Involve parents. Strengthen career guidance.
Parents want to support their children in making important decisions about their professional future – but that's not always easy. How can they provide guidance without making the decision for them? And how can they encourage young people to increasingly take on responsibility themselves?
Table 2: Winning over companies. Enabling engagement.
How should engagement in career guidance be structured so that employees of smaller companies also say: "I can and want to do this"?
Table 3: Reaching young people. Creating opportunities.
Not all young people benefit equally from existing career guidance services. Some are completely unaware of the options available. Others only start thinking about their future very late in life, or despite various resources, they can't find a suitable path.
How should career guidance be structured so that these young people don't get "lost"?
Anyone who is curious and wants to know what has already been discussed in past Lausitz Cafés can get an overview on our Miroboard .
