The structural transformation, including the legally mandated phase-out of coal, requires a rethink of energy supply. The Structural Change Task Force, together with partners, has developed a concept for the Görlitz district to support the assessment of the necessary grid expansion for the development of renewable energies, as well as providing initial indications of hydrogen potential, municipal heat planning, and future energy supply.

Wind and sun – renewable energies are key to a sustainable energy supply. To achieve this, the necessary conditions must be created and the consumption of fossil fuels such as oil, natural gas, and coal must be reduced. Accordingly, amendments have been made to the 2023 Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG) and the Saxon Ordinance on Open-Field Photovoltaic Systems. These changes create opportunities for greater financial participation in the expansion of renewable energies.

The "Lausitz Cluster Mobility" network, with over 40 partners, has developed the "Lausitz Stop" project. This innovative type of stop is intended to serve as a mobility, local supply, and meeting point in rural areas, aiming to develop public transport more sustainably and make it more attractive to all user groups, independent of existing services.
