9. Lausitz Café: Short distances, great variety - perspectives on local supply

The Lausitz Café is an engaging and regularly recurring event series where we discuss specific questions related to selected key topics of structural change with you. Each Lausitz Café will focus on a different overarching theme. In 2024, we plan to expand the event series to the entire Görlitz district and invite you to the UnbezahlbarLounge in Görlitz on September 9, 2024 .

Questions:
Topic 1: Digitizing the City Center.
The county's City Initiative would like to launch a project to revitalize city centers. Part of the project will be an app that contributes to this revitalization through digitization.
At the worktable, you will find various functional ideas that could be integrated into the app.

Please prioritize these functions. Which functions do you consider particularly important for revitalizing city centers, and which functions are dispensable? What content should be included in your top three functions?

Topic 2: Prima+Public Transport Mobility Project
Imagine you live in the countryside, it's Friday evening, and you still need to bake a cake for your partner's birthday tomorrow. Unfortunately, you don't have all the ingredients at home. The local grocery store doesn't have the missing ingredients, and your partner is out on shift with the family car.

To do the shopping, there's the option of carpooling. What exactly would you need to consider this option regularly?

Topic 3: Hand in Hand.
The Schmidt family has lived in the countryside for many years. They buy their bread rolls daily from the local baker and are regular customers of the neighboring butcher. Unfortunately, business in their small village isn't as good as they'd hoped, and closure is a possibility. For the Schmidt family, this would mean having to drive 10 km to the nearest town to do their daily shopping.

How can craft businesses and services be preserved in rural areas?

Topic 4: Social Space
Imagine you are 70 years old and live in a village with 2,000 inhabitants. A 24/7 convenience store opened about two months ago. You have already shopped there five or six times and are slowly getting used to the new system. What you still lack, however, is the opportunity to simply strike up a conversation with others.

How can modern local supply services (e.g., 24/7 markets) be expanded to include a community aspect and interpersonal interactions?

This offer is open to all residents of the Görlitz district and is free of charge. Food and drinks will also be provided, so no one has to discuss the event on an empty stomach.
