Pitch Day Booster scholarships of the Young Lusatia

DIE JUNGE LAUSITZ SUPPORTS YOU IN YOUR CANDIDATION FOR A MUNICIPAL OFFICE WITH UP TO 2,000 EUROS!

That's right. Anyone who wants to get involved in the Lausitz region and take on responsibility in the local elections in Brandenburg or Saxony has the chance to receive a so-called booster grant from us. We support young candidates from all parties with up to €2,000 to finance innovative campaign and information initiatives.

With the booster scholarships, we want to ensure that the 2024 local election campaign is more ambitious than previous campaigns. Lusatia is facing enormous changes and, consequently, crucial decisions about the region's future direction. These decisions must be central to the election campaign! We cannot afford to focus solely on individuals and parties during the local election campaign, instead of addressing the issues that are currently relevant to the region. Therefore, we want to support you in making Lusatia a better place.

WHO WE SUPPORT:

With our Booster scholarships, we want to support diverse young personalities who:

• will run for a party, for a list or as an independent candidate in the 2024 local elections in Brandenburg or Saxony.
• share the goals of the Young Lusatia Perspective Plan
• want to implement a pet project in their local government.
• They should prominently feature at least one demand from the perspective plan in their election campaign.
• To see structural change as an opportunity.
• representing Lusatia, e.g. through voluntary work, their profession, etc.
• have a non-partisan mindset.
• share the values ​​compass of the young people of Lusatia.
• to profess their commitment to the free and democratic basic order and the Basic Law.

WHAT WE SUPPORT:

The following expenses can be financed through the Young Lusatia Booster Scholarship:

• Innovative campaign formats (events, campaigns, online, etc.) to place your key issues in the election campaign
  • max. 2,000 euros
  • Costs for location, catering, advertising, etc.
  • Event series/multiple events also possible
• Catering for campaign volunteers
  • max. 500 euros
  • Reference to a specific election campaign activity is required (e.g. poster campaign, flyer marathon, door-to-door campaigning, etc.)
• Travel expenses
  • max. 500 euros
  • Proof of necessary travel distances required for application
• Cost of living
  • max. 500 euros
  • only if unpaid leave is taken for the election campaign (proof required)

A combination of the different eligible measures up to a total of 2,000 euros is possible.

HOW TO APPLY:

Applying for one of our Booster scholarships is easy. All you have to do is register for one of our Pitch Days in Görlitz, Cottbus, or Hoyerswerda and convince our jury, made up of young, engaged people from Lusatia, in a maximum of five minutes by answering the following question: Why are you running in the local elections and what are your goals for the next five years? 

At each event, we will select a wildcard winner for the most convincing pitch, who will receive a funding commitment from us on the spot. All other participants will be notified after the final event whether and how much funding they will receive.
