15th Lausitz Café - Succession communication, AI in everyday work and new ways of mobility

15th Lausitz Café - Succession communication, AI in everyday work and new ways of mobility

The Lausitz Café is an entertaining and regularly recurring event series, this time being held in cooperation with the Dresden Chamber of Skilled Crafts (HWK) . Together, we would like to discuss specific questions with you on the topics of communication in succession planning, AI in everyday work, and mobility .

In 2025, we plan to expand the event series to the entire Görlitz district and invite you to us on board the Bärwalder Seelust on Thursday, June 26, 2025. Boarding will take place at the harbor on the Klittner Ufer. We depart promptly at 5:00 PM, so please arrive a little earlier for check-in.

Due to limited space in the boat, registration is required to participate!

Questions:

Table 1: Follow-up communication

Better early than late? Communication as the key to succession planning

Claudia is 49 and runs an electrical contracting business. At 45, she began openly discussing her succession plans with her team and family. She offered training courses, launched an internal talent search, and tapped into her networks. Now, five years later, a young employee is training to become a master electrician – and they are discussing a handover in two to three years.

  • How can early communication help build trust and develop options?
  • What is needed to encourage business owners to dare to talk about it early on?

Table 2: AI in everyday work

Making everyday work easier for tradespeople with AI assistants – Practical applications for small businesses

Thomas the carpenter has been running his business with two journeymen for 15 years. His craftsmanship is excellent, but he often spends hours at his desk in the evenings: preparing quotes, doing the bookkeeping, and organizing.

  • How could Thomas use simple AI tools to solve repetitive tasks in order to make his daily work easier and better?

Table 3: New Paths to Mobility

Between tracks and sea spray – future paths on Saxony's largest coast

It's the year 2030. Lake Bärwalde is an established tourist destination in Lusatia. Visitors reach Boxberg, Klitten, and Uhyst by bus and train – but for many, that's where their journey ends. The last leg to the lake remains a challenge. Therefore, a shared goal has been formulated: sustainable, flexible, and attractive mobility around the lake. However, some locations are currently better connected to the public transport network than others, and demand fluctuates significantly seasonally, complicating planning.

  • What could a viable, shared mobility concept look like that makes the lake not only accessible but also a tangible experience – for guests, for locals, for nature and the economy?

This offer is open to all residents of the Görlitz district and is free of charge. Food and drinks will also be provided, so no one has to discuss the event on an empty stomach.

Anyone who is curious and wants to know what has already been discussed in past Lausitz Cafés can get an overview on our Miroboard .
